Art
Guidelines
Art
to Scan
Photographs, original art, and high quality prints can
be any size.
Wallet size photos may not be good for some of our larger
products.
Art larger
than 11” X 17” results in additional charges
and a longer turnaround time.
Computer
prints - We suggest inkjet print at 600dpi or better.
1200 dpi inkjet prints on inkjet photo paper are excellent.
Lower resolution prints from other devices are useable
but “what you give is what you get”.
It is imperative
that all artwork is as clean and clear as possible.
If your prints look sketchy or pixilated, it won’t
look any better on our products.
Digital
Files
Digital files can be supplied from 3.5” floppy
disks, ZIP disks, CDs, and through e-mail. We accept
art that has been created in both Windows and Apple
environments. The disks should be accompanied by a printed
proof to show us the desired result.
- If you
are supplying art from Adobe Illustrator
please save your artwork as version eight or lower.
Please include the fonts that you used or create outlines
if your artwork contains text. To create outlines
in Adobe Illustrator you first select all text and
then choose ‘Create Outlines’ in the ‘Type’
menu. Make sure that your Illustrator art does not
have ‘placed’ images.
- If using
Adobe Photoshop please save as ‘.eps’
file version six or lower.
- TIFF
files must be saved at a minimum of 300 DPI resolution.
- If you
must give us a JPEG file, please
make sure that you save it at the highest quality
possible and as close to the product size as possible.
- To convert
text to curves in Corel Draw, you
first select your text then select the ‘Convert
To Curves’ option in the ‘Arrange’
menu. Please save your Corel Draw art in version nine
or lower.
E-Mail
E-mail can be sent to fotofab@fotofabric.net
and must not be larger than 10 MB. You can compress
your files using StuffIt or WinZip applications. Doing
this will reduce your file size and protect your artwork.
Please call to verify that we did receive your e-mail.
Include your name, phone number, and shipping address
in the body of the e-mail along with any other information
or requests.
Note: colors
on a computer monitor will look different than imprinted
art. Monitors display illuminated RGB color. Printing
is CMYK color. Imprinting on a garment will more closely
resemble the image printed on paper than the image on
the monitor.
• PMS color matching is not guranteed.
* Artwork needing modifications may incur extra charges.
